On my birthday this year, I wrote a letter to myself from future me in my journal that I wanted to share with you. I hope it gives you an opportunity to reflect on your own growth & take a moment to celebrate yourself, all that you’ve been through and all the miracles in your life that are to come.
And most importantly, recognizing the miracle that YOU ARE already.
Dear Christie,
Wow, you’re 33! The year Jesus died and saved you from your sins (no pressure on what you accomplish this year
The year Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic ocean alone.
The year Walter Nilsson rode across the United States on a unicycle.
You’re going to do amazing things in this coming year, you’re going to surprise yourself in the best possible way. God’s going to surprise you in more ways than you can count. You’re not only going to do what He’s called you to do, you’re going to continue to BE who He’s created you to be.
But I want to reflect on this last year, you’ve made yourself more proud than you’ve ever been.
This past year, you proved you are stronger and more resilient than you ever thought possible.
You’ve demonstrated leaning into fear, clinging to faith and pushing yourself beyond what you ever thought you could achieve.
You lived into your vision as a leader, and CEO, owning a company and leading a team.
You’ve helped people find love and hundreds of people learn to love themselves & create a life they also love.
And most importantly, you’re closer to God than you’ve ever been. You’ve seen His love and grace in more ways than you can ever count and you approach each day with gratitude, for everything that’s lost and for everything that’s still to come.
There have been more miracles than you could ever imagine happen in your 32nd year, more growth required of you, and more grace given to accompany that growth.
The lessons you’ve learned along the way this past year are the building blocks of who you are going to be this next year.
Keep going, & don’t give up until you see the miracles ahead.
And there will be millions of little miracles.
“Not one of the good promises which the Lord has spoken failed; everything came out right”
With Love,
Future Christie
